After a long gap of many years/decades I have enjoyed this year the Independence Day celebrations.
Years back, I used to accompany my father to the Independence Day parades in the districts where he would take the salute as the Superintendent of Police. Years passed and things changed - we got busy with lives and India went on celebrating year after year of Independence.
This time, Shreya(my daughter in Class one)invited us to her school, Future Kids(http://www.fkshyderabad.com) to watch the ID celebrations. The whole four hours - hoisting of the National Flag, signing the national anthem Jana Gana Mana and Sare Jahan Se Acchha, watching the parade and the enthusiasm of the kids brought tears to my eyes. As years go by, we forget this great day and leave it to the so called government officials, government aided schools and a few good men to celebrate what a lot of matyrs achieved for us decades ago.
